Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP) project is jointly financed by Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and World Bank. The objective of the project is to increase the adoption of environmentally sustainable practices by targeted microenterprises. The project tends to demonstrate the project impact on 30 different sub-sectors. The project prioritizes a selected number of polluting microenterprise business clusters and supports the expansion of innovative economic activities conducive to a more sustainable environment. Padakhep Manabik Unnayan Kendra implementing this sub-project in Mirpur and Mohammedpur area in Dhaka districts and Rangpur Sadar and Co Bazar area in Rangpur District of Bangladesh. This 02 year’s (June 2021 to July 2023) sub-project is supporting to achieve global goals of the main SEP project. The sub-project activities is being implemented in the business clusters of Promotion of Safe Street Food Management Practices subsector to improve the overall business and environment of the microenterprises. The objective of the sub project is to ensure - safe street food for city dwellers. Reducing environment pollution, occupational hazards and livelihood risks of street food vendors and provide technical know-how to ensure food safety. Along with introducing street food, promoting hygienic restaurant in a sustainable way to the micro-entrepreneurs is another purpose of the subproject. The use of hygienic and safety equipment during food processing and production in street food and local restaurant is the major target area of the subproject. Padakhep Manabik Unnayan Kendra has taken initiative to conduct a final evaluation survey through an individual consultant to understand the overall prospect in the business and to identify the improvements in environment status of entrepreneur and their enterprises under the Sub-Project. A total of 350 microenterprises are in this Sub-Project of Sustainable Enterprise Project (SEP).
